DEGAmix the most advanced CNG installation for Diesel engines.

An economic solution in the face of rising diesel oil process may be conversion to the DEGAmix system ready available from ELPIGAZ company. This innovative solution involves simultaneous feeding two types of fuel – diesel fuel and LPG to high pressure engines.

DEGAmix system allows for a reduction of operational costs of the vehicle to the range of 10-15% thanks to a reduction of Diesel fuel consumption (less Diesel fuel, instead LPG is burned).

DEGAmix means Diesel Fuel and Gas Mixture – ie. Dual Fuel System, which can be applied in a wide range of Diesel fuel engines, starting from normally aspirated engines, to turbocharged and the Common Rail types, irrespective of their purpose.  Therefore, it can be installed in a variety of vehicles and heavy machinery: motor vehicles (passenger, light trucks, trucks, buses), small and large agricultural machinery and tractors, also gen sets and other equipment powered by Diesel engines.  Dual Fuel concept was used by Rudolf Diesel himself – the inventor of the first compression-ignition engine. The purpose of the application of the gas was to help to optimise the operation of the compression-ignition engine.     

 

The innovative DEGAmix system was awarded INPRO 2011 Prize which is presented to the best producers and the most innovative products coming from autogas business.

 

The DEGAmix solution marketed by ELPIGAZ is the first system on the Polish market that offers all necessary homologations that allow for use in a wide range of vehicles:

 

 

ELPIGAZ company has designed special LPG tanks (LC- Large Capacity) for DEGAmix system. The size and capacity of the tanks are similar to original diesel tanks that are fitted to the frame of a truck.

The tank capacity and type are matched with LPG combustion properties, in a certain proportion of diesel fuel consumption, in order to allow usage of simultaneous fuelling with two types of fuels durind a regular operation of the vehicle.

 The tank is also matched with the avalaible space for its mouting. Usually, the tank is mounted to the frame of the veicle, behind the driver's cab or in a place dedicated to the spare wheel.


         

Application benefits

 The application of the system gives also rational economical benefits, mostly seen as a reduction of operational costs achieved thanks to a partial substitution of the expensive Diesel fuel for cheaper LPG.  The highest effectiveness of DEGAmix system is available for vehicles running under load (the heavier the better).  Long hauls help considerably to recoup the money invested in the Dual Fuel system.

Economical costs for most of the owners are decisive, however the reductions of these costs are not the only advantages of the DEGAmix system. Other operational benefits are: improved driving dynamics, precise and steady fuel dosage thanks to two map calibration system (GAS MAP + DIESEL MAP).
